The Clark Commemoration Project Drs. Mamie and Kenneth Clark were Black psychologists who lived in Hastings for decades. They are best known for their “doll tests,” which were influential exhibits in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision that desegregated our nation’s public schools. Given the upcoming 70th anniversary of this groundbreaking decision, we’ve initiated a project to commemorate the Clarks’ accomplishments.
