We’d love to know the story behind these two photographs. All we know is the date: March of 1963. The man on the left looks like Harold Ormerod, manager of Anaconda Wire & Cable Company’s Hastings plant. Is it an award ceremony? What is the award and who are the scouts and the other two officials? Does anyone know?
Did you get more info on these? Please let me know at JimBeKind@aol.com
The award being held in the first picture is an Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America. In the 2nd picture it looks like the Troop designation on the shoulder patch starts out as Dobbs (can't read the next word) and possibly Troop #59?
Ah, very interesting. Maybe that's why we are having such a hard time with identifications! Still nothing yet.
Hastings Boy Scout Troops at that time were
Troop 2, Troop 32, and Troop 128. Don't know what the Troops in Dobbs were, but that's more than likely what is in the picture.
Very Nice blog thanks
