Historic Walking Tours of Hastings

As part of our ongoing 50th anniversary celebration, the Hastings Historical Society is offering two historic walking tours of our village. Guided by Society trustees, each tour is between 1 and 1-1/2 hours long, and will involve approximately ½ mile of walking. Participation is limited to 12 people per tour. Recommended for adults and children 10 and over. Masks are required for unvaccinated attendees.

Tour #1: The Draper/Quarry Area (SOLD OUT)

We will cover the Draper family in Hastings, the evolution of the marble quarry, and the tenures of the artist George Harvey and the sculptor Jacques Lipchitz in our village. (Note: This tour has some rough terrain through a short, wooded slope – hiking boots are recommended.)

Date and Time: Saturday, November 6 @ 1 pm (RAIN DATE: Same time on Sunday, November 7)

Start and End Location: Draper Park, at the entrance to the Historical Society
Suggested Parking Location: Draper Park parking area

Cost: $10 per person
