Annual Meeting and Lecture
Life During War Time: Caught in the Crossfire of the Neutral Ground
Life changed drastically as the Revolutionary War came to what is today Irvington Dobbs Ferry and Hastings. As the Revolutionary War divided neighbors and families two local families rose as remarkable leaders on the American side — the Odells and the Dyckmans.
Hear their story: the men and women who served as Westchester guides militia leaders and ordinary citizens caught in the perilous “Neutral Ground” of Westchester County.
Speaker: Char Weigel is a board member of the Odell House Rochambeau HQ Museum, Vice President of Special Projects for Revolutionary Westchester 250, and a researcher and author on Westchester’s Revolutionary War history. A brief Hastings Historical Society annual meeting will precede the lecture. Refreshments to follow.
