Our new exhibit at the Observatory Cottage uses our sometimes-zany collection of postcards to tell the many individual stories that make up our village’s past. The Society’s postcards run the gamut from everyday activities and celebrations to important buildings and street scenes.
Many of the items on display come from the Matz Collection in our archives. Over the years, Dr. Robert Matz has generously donated hundreds of postcards to the Society. Look for a profile of Dr. Matz and his interest in postcards in an upcoming issue of the Historian.
Come celebrate the opening with us, see the collection up close, and find a few familiar places along the way. We hope to see you there!
